HISTORY
Rai was born to a small Moon Keeper village deep in the Northern Black Shroud. The Matriarch's first born son cursed to save his people from the creature haunting them. He was raised in isolation, unknowing of the voidsent they bound to his body and soul at the moment of his birth. The figure made up of shadows and darkness who whispers in his ears. To him this "Shadow" was always just a companion, an imaginary friend, and the only one to comfort him in his long nights alone. When he turned sixteen he was told of the true nature of his Shadow. Angered by what they did, Rai fled, and didn't stop running until he hit the sea.Rai now Captain's a crew of his own on the high seas; the Covenant. This crew of pirates are made up of others like himself. The cursed, the bound, the haunted. Those who are thrown from society due to their undesirable natures. Where rules no longer apply and everything is free game to accomplish their goals. The Covenant's promise is to try to free every member who joins the crew from their curse- or at least give them freedom in their final moments. Together they take whatever, and whoever, they need to be cured.

Rai captain's a crew of pirates- not that he'd ever say that out loud. But maybe you've run had a run-in or two with him and his crew. They are always hunting and researching for void artifacts and those who can cure rare "ailments". Every Port
Rai is world traveled and has ended up in just about any and all ports. His favorite haunts are Limsa and Kugane.
Lover of Books.
Rai loves books of all kinds and has amassed quite an extensive collection for himself. He could probably sit all day talking about the most recent book he's read. Black Shroud.
Rai considers himself a "country bumpkin" coming from the far reaches of the Northern Black Shroud. His village is small and barely known, but he grew up in those woods. Even if he doesn't like to return there, he does speak with some confidence about life there.
The Shadow.
Only to those with aethersight or a cunning knowing would notice that something is "off" about Rai. His shadow never perfectly follows his movements and he can sometimes be found talking to it. Something else is going on there... especially since it definitely looks like the shadow is responding.
